Billie Duncan received her BA degree from Baylor University and her M..Ed., from The Pennsylvania State University. She is a licensed Speech/Language Pathologist and holds an all level teaching certificate. Billie has taught all ages from 3-year-olds through the university level. Her experience includes work with children, youth and families in rehabilitation centers, hospitals, public and private preschools, Head Start, child care facilities and in private practice. She is on the Board of Directors of a developmental school and has edited the newsletter for the local chapter of NAEYC. Billie illustrates the children’s self-esteem publications and curriculum guides from Self Dimensions. She is the designated instructor for the CEUs awarded by Texas Tech University Distance Learning and is always happy to talk with you and answer your questions when you are working on your courses.

Dan Duncan received his BBA from Baylor University and his M.S.S.W. from The University of Texas. He was a Fellow in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. As a Family Therapist, Dan has worked in Mental Health/Mental Retardation Centers, been a director of a Family Service Association, worked in hospitals and consulted in long term care facilities. Dan co-edited LIFE TRACKS, a children’s newspaper focusing on self-esteem strategies. He has been a facilitator for self-esteem workshops and training programs for early childhood professionals. Dan (with Billie) co-authors the study modules for early childhood professionals.

     Billie and Dan’s three daughters are professionally involved respectively in teaching special education, working with early childhood training programs and providing training to early childhood professionals through a federally funded program.

     And . . . .their active young grandchildren provide hands on experience.
